I've been working on my personal Browning collection for about 12 years. Still have a few pieces I'd like to find, but so far it covers everything from the first Browning CB receiver (and 2nd transmitter) up through the Mark IVA, along with mobiles, accessories, dealership & distributors items, etc. This photo was used in the 11/02 issue of Popular Communications. I also collect older Browning items back to the late 1920's/early 1930's Browning-Drake radios, 1940's test & military equipment, 1950's FM receivers (Browning pioneered consumer FM!), and so on. It's an illness. www.browninglabsinc.com/d41c20b0.jpg

Thanks Preston! There are still radios to be found - it just takes time and patience (I never had a clue what patience was 'til I started trying to find Brownings that had not been autopsied). I know that mods are part of the big picture, but it aggravates me when any of the classics get butchered 'cuz there never will be any more of them built.
I'm getting addicted to all these smilies! ;D

Oh, Sweet Mother of Mary, perish the thought!! If I ever was to decide to sell 'em I'd like for 'em to be worth a little something.

Well, I don't mind showing my ignorance - I had to read Preston's post 3 times before it finally sunk in - and when it did I almost made a puddle. Thought I was gonna have to use wallpaper paste to get that thing to work DoubleDeuce! Got some kind of flaky little problem with the front page of the site - one of these days it's gonna crash and burn. You'll hear me screamin' all the way across the crik that runs red when that happens.

Glenn, Yup, clothspins work well, as they don't short out, and steal the juice. Run those bare wires to your chair seat through the keyer on the mike. That PING will turn into a squeel that .01uf caps won't solve. If you hold the hammer down long enough, you can adjust your Modulation with that 1500Hz tone you will inject . Take Care, P

Rog, How I got my handle was; we have BB-Qs alot in the summer, and I have a pool table. If you've ever seen Minasota Fats play, you know he steady talks Sh!t to the crowd between shots. I do the same thing, and have for many years. I have gotten pretty quick on the jokes (never offensive). The group that hangs out started to call me Heavy P. If I may say so myself; I shoot a pretty mean game of 9 Ball. 73, P
