I am very pleased when people get in the christmas spirit but there is a need 365 days a year.We donate clothes and toys to shelters once a year. You can even donate reading glasses. But there are many ways to help.Local food pantries. This time of year coats and warm clothing are needed badly. If you have nothing to give donate your time. There are elderly people in nursing homes and our communities that have noone.Imagine how that feels.Take a couple hours and go visit them. You will be amazed how much they appreciate someone caring enough to have a conversation with them. This time of year depression is a huge problem.Everyone gets the blues.A little kindness and an outstretched hand or just a sympathetic ear can save a life.Thank you all for taking the time to read this and happy holidays.Rog

Your right Roger, Christmas spirit is a good thing. And their are other important times as well. Like now for instance, Spring cleaning is once again upon us, Those old boots that you dont wear anymore, that shirt with the tear in the sleeve, And how many pairs of pants with the holes in the knees do you really need? By donating that old stuff to your local thrift store You could be helping someone, or some family more than you know. Reading this old post made me think back to three years ago when myself and the wife volunteered to serve dinner at a local shelter in Reno. Seeing those people in line waiting for there food. Most of them where just beggars, that would'nt have it any other way, But some of the people there were embarassed, ashamed, homeless and pennieless, thinking that only a few short weeks ago, they to were setting pretty good, until it all snowballed on them and left them on the street. Thanks guys
Let's all pitch in even though it's not Christmas.
It's not always their fault.
